“I just don’t believe that when people are being unjustly oppressed that they should let someone else set the rules for them by which they can come out from under that oppression.”  ---Malcolm X

In order to rise above we (the oppressed) must follow rules that have been established by a particular group (the oppressors). This is one way to translate what Malcom X find some to be unbelievable. I completely agree with him,  it makes no sense. How can a group of individuals rise above if there still following rules that have been established by the oppressors.  It just doesn't make sense it's quite ironic actually.  Malcolm X is a widely known human rights activist who advocated for the rights of African-American people in the  1950s and 1960s. Staying in the same topic as Malcom, African Americans in this country still  continue to face racism. However African-Americans are not the only group, many other individuals face this problem as well.  What exactly are we doing to fix this problem? Well as you can see were doing a lot nothing a lot of nothing. Why are we doing anything? Is it because it makes you uncomfortable when we talk about this topic? Well if this is so then we need to be talking about this because it is something that makes you uncomfortable and if we don't talk about it then we can't ease that feeling. If this is just forgotten, thrown away,or put aside, nothing will ever get fixed so if you don't talk about it now when will it be fixed when will we all be united. Avoiding the topic doesn't make it go away, it doesn't mean that it's fixed. By not talking about it, we are building up and simply setting it aside hoping it will go away on it own. We  are told not to talk about it but who is telling us that? The people who say that they're at the "oppressors" and those who follow are the ones who are "oppressed".
