"Nobody in the world, nobody in history, has ever gotten their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of the people who were oppressing them.”
                                                                                                                        ---Assata Shakur

Assata Shakur is a female African American activist, who has is a renown figure among many different regions in the world. She is wanted ,and is on the top lists in America. Shes been charged with committing murder and several other crimes. In the quote above she argues that inorder to get what we want or what is rightfully ours we must fight for it, even if it means that it is not morally correct. More particularly she states that those whom are seeking freedom must defy their oppressors moral senses. A moral could be defined as a persons behavior or beliefs that are concerned with what is acceptable and what is not. What Assata states is true, throughout history we have seen the oppressed rise up against their oppressors through the use of violence, and language. This may not seem morally correct however there is an extent to which it is as well.
When talking about those who have overthrown their oppressors, one commonality they  most share is the use of violence. Our country is a great example for this, because the early people who had settled in these areas weren't satisfied with how the British were ruling them. They were being represented unfairly so eventually the people gathered and organized themselves to fight the oppressor. Through the struggle many lives were lost but the people persevered and won their freedom. The same could be said for colonies that were under Spanish rule.
