Language is an interesting topic because it serves an intresting role in how we communicate with one another and as well as in terms of mass communication (media). For many years people have used language to resist opression, deny rights, or other methods of resistance. A very common way of using langauge to deny or show resistanceis simply by protest. These have become more common and they were widely popular throughout history. For example in our community we saw and many of us participated in the local protests in Barrio Logan and down town San Diego. People were protesting the idea of building a new football stadium in the city. In this particular case we saw that infividuals were exercisinf theor rights and protesting demanding that they be heard. Another form of resistance that language is used for would be through the use of mass media networks like Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and other networks similar to these. Theogh these networks we see organization, communication and awareness of events so resistance groups can form everywhere as well as online. In history we see communication as a vital componemt of resistance movements and organizations. Because of the lack of technology back then communicating wasn't as easy as it is now. Language doesnt exclusively mean talking,it can include songs, music ,body language or other meyhods in which individuals can get messages across one another.
